Ahmet Aykas, MD, Assoc. Prof.
General Surgeon
Associate Professor Ahmet Aykas, MD, is an experienced General Surgeon with extensive expertise in breast surgery, endocrine surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery, colorectal surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and organ transplantation surgery.
After graduating from Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1989, he completed his General Surgery residency at İzmir Bozyaka Training and Research Hospital. He subsequently served for more than 20 years in the hospital's General Surgery and Organ Transplantation Departments, where he played an active role in the development of advanced surgical services, including participation in one of the surgical teams performing the institution's first kidney transplant.
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Aykas has contributed to numerous national and international scientific meetings through presentations and research activities. In recognition of his academic achievements, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2019.
Since 2020, Dr. Aykas has worked in private practice alongside Prof. Yusuf Yıldırım, MD, FACS. Their close professional collaboration enables a multidisciplinary approach to complex surgical cases, allowing patients to benefit from the combined experience of two highly experienced surgeons whenever appropriate.
He remains committed to delivering safe, evidence-based surgical care while providing individualized treatment tailored to each patient's needs.
